Gordon Ramsay Will Not Adjust Menus for People Taking Weight-Loss Injections

Gordon Ramsay refuses to modify his restaurant menus for people taking weight-loss injections. 

While speaking with The Sunday Times in an interview published on Nov. 9, the celebrity restaurateur, 59, shared his thoughts on whether he’d adjust the menus at his restaurants to accommodate diners who use injections.

Ramsay’s comments come after Heston Blumenthal announced a “mindful” experience at his Fat Duck restaurant that features reduced portion sizes. 

“That is absolute bullshit,” Ramsay said. “There’s no f—— way we’re giving in to the Mounjaro jab … The problem is with them [the diners] for eating too much in the first f—— place!”

He added, “There’s no way that we’re coming in with an Ozempic tasting menu to make you feel like less of a fat f— by 10:30 in the evening.”

According to WebMD, Ozempic, a semaglutide, prevents the pancreas from releasing glucagon, which is a hormone that stimulates the liver to release glucose into the bloodstream. As a result, the drug can cause the user to have a smaller appetite. 

Mounjaro, a tirzepatide, can have a similar effect, per Cleveland Clinic.

Both drugs, used to treat Type 2 diabetes, have become popular for weight loss.

Ramsay also shared his opinion on people using their phones in eateries, particularly influencers. “F—— ring lights and posting about how good the food is,” he said. 

The chef acknowledged that influencers can be beneficial for brands, but noted that it can ruin the dining experience for others. He told The Sunday Times that those type of diners in America have the worst dining etiquette, “because they’re constantly taking f—— pictures with their flashlights on.”

Ramsay has presented on the television cooking shows Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, MasterChef, Next Level Chef and more. He also owns several restaurants around the world, including Gordon Ramsay Burger in Las Vegas, Bread Street Kitchen and Bar in London and Le Pressoir D’Argent in Bordeaux, France.

In October, it was announced that Ramsay will soon open a new British-themed gastropub in the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, the pub — which will be called The Carnaby — “will bring the Brit pop energy of the swinging ‘60s London” featuring “a selection of Gordon Ramsay’s iconic and delicious British classic dishes.”
